Riley Blatz, 20, has been a Special Olympics Texas athlete since he was 13. This was his first Winter Games and he competed in Powerlifting. When he was interviewed on Saturday, he said he was especially looking forward to the Athlete Celebration and Dance. “Everyone, I will see you there!”

Blatz said he loves attending state games and nationals, and being able to compete in any sport that he wants to try. He especially enjoys swimming and track and has won “lots of golds, lots of silvers, lots of bronze” medals. He always tries to do his best.

His advice to fellow athletes? “Do your best to be able to win and bring home the medals.”
