Texercise
Special Olympics Texas has partnered with a state agency, the Health and Human Services Commision (HHSC), on a 12 week program designed to keep the athletes and those currently not involved within Special Olympics active without having to use exercise equipment or join any fitness clubs or gyms. While the program is primarily geared to the older individual, many of these are very good for all including family members and providers.

Everyone wants to be healthy, and exercise can help keep you looking and feeling your best. Regular exercise can help you start improving your health in as little as 3 weeks.
Experts advise that the activity does not have to be done all at one time. If it works better to take 2, 15-minute walks than one 30-minute walk, by all means do so. Just keep the goal in mind.
Regular physical activity can help reduce the risk of obesity, cardiovascular diseases, arthritis, diabetes and osteoporosis. Everyone, regardless of their age and ability, can obtain health benefits from physical activity.
